About Study Abroad Safely 101

This course was conceptualized and designed through the collaboration of a former British Intelligence Officer and his wife, both of whom have worked and traveled all over the world, a former executive leader of one of the largest and most respected international educational exchange programs in the U.S., and a defense contractor who is a mother of three children, all of whom have participated in study abroad programs.

Traveling and studying abroad is a wonderful and exciting experience. The memories and friends made will last a lifetime. We want student travelers to enjoy every minute of the experience, but we also want to help make sure their memories are all pleasant ones. Unfortunately, bad things do happen in good places.

In less than two hours, this course will provide students and their parents with relevant and practical advice and tips to help keep travelers as safe as possible while outside of the U.S. At the end of the course, there is an Action Plan Template, as well as a list of helpful reference sites where additional specific travel information can be found.

We hope both students and parents enjoy the course and we wish every student safe and happy travels!

- Paul, Pam, Mike and Danielle
